LETTER OF INTENT SIGNED TO FORM PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN NOVI SAD AND WUXI

The Chinese City of Wuxi and Novi Sad have signed a Letter of Intent that promotes collaboration in a number of areas, including trade, education, science and technology, culture, sports, tourism, and economy. The Chairman of the Wuxi Municipal Economic Development Group, Du Xiaogang, and Novi Sad Mayor Žarko Mićin signed the Letter of Intent to create collaboration.
In addition to the Free Trade Agreement that the two nations signed last year, Mayor Mićin emphasized that the signing of the Letter of Intent is important for both cities and that it is founded on the friendly and fraternal connections that are continuously growing and strengthening between China and Serbia.
- The City of Novi Sad has been nurturing friendly ties with its Chinese twin City of Changchun for 44 years, with Ningbo for 10 years, and with Jinan since the previous year. Today, the City of Wuxi is similarly joining the circle of Chinese friends. I am very happy that today we have begun the process of formally elevating the collaboration between our cities to a new level. There is significant potential for collaborative projects, but the most crucial aspect is our shared vision for development, with an emphasis on high-tech innovations, science, education, and culture. The infrastructure initiatives we are collaborating on with Chinese firms involve significant developments in Novi Sad, such as building new bridges, railways, and highways, along with the automotive industry giants "Lianbo" and SHAC. I am confident that starting today, we will strengthen our economic ties with Wuxi and pave the way for new investments. I think enhancing collaboration presents a fantastic chance for our communities to gain insights from one another and discover new avenues for development and creativity – said Mayor Mićin.
The signing of the Letter of Intent on establishing Cooperation between the City of Novi Sad and Wuxi was attended by members of the Novi Sad City Council and senior representatives of the Wuxi City Administration.
